Venue Operations Manager

Venue operations managers are responsible for the physical running of a conference, events, or entertainment venue — ensuring the space, staff, and equipment are ready for every event. Key Duties

  • Overseeing daily venue operations including set-up, changeovers, and technical facilities
  • Managing the venue operations team including portering, technical, and cleaning staff
  • Coordinating with events managers and clients on room configurations and AV requirements
  • Conducting pre-event and post-event venue inspections and snagging lists
  • Ensuring all health and safety, fire evacuation, and licensing compliance is maintained
  • Managing maintenance contractors and planned preventive maintenance schedules
  • Reporting on venue capacity utilisation, operational costs, and staff deployment

Typical Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proven venue operations or facilities management experience in an events environment
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate
  • First Aid at Work certificate
  • Personal Licence (APLH) preferred for licensed venues
  • Degree in Hospitality, Events Management, or Facilities Management advantageous
