Refrigerated Vehicle Driver

Refrigerated vehicle drivers transport temperature-controlled goods including food, pharmaceuticals, and perishables, ensuring cold chain integrity throughout the journey. Key Duties

Operating refrigerated HGV or van on multi-drop delivery routes to food outlets, hospitals, and retail premises
Pre-departure checks of the refrigeration unit including temperature set point and fuel level
Monitoring and recording temperature logs during transit to ensure cold chain compliance
Loading chilled and frozen goods in the correct temperature zones
Communicating temperature alarms or equipment failures to the transport office immediately
Obtaining POD signatures and completing food safety documentation
Maintaining a clean cab and refrigerated unit in line with food safety standards

Typical Qualifications & Requirements

Category C or C+E driving licence depending on vehicle size
Valid CPC Driver Qualification Card
Digital tachograph card
Previous experience driving temperature-controlled vehicles preferred
Understanding of food safety and cold chain requirements
