Compliance Officer

Compliance officers ensure that a business operates within legal and regulatory requirements, managing policies, audits, and risk across relevant areas. Key Duties

Monitoring business activities for compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies
Maintaining and updating compliance documentation, policies, and procedures
Conducting internal audits and risk assessments and reporting findings to management
Liaising with regulatory bodies including DVSA, FCA, or sector-specific authorities as applicable
Delivering compliance training to staff and updating induction materials
Investigating and documenting compliance incidents and near misses
Keeping up to date with changes in legislation relevant to the business sector

Typical Qualifications & Requirements

Previous compliance or regulatory affairs experience in the relevant sector
Working knowledge of applicable regulations (e.g. transport O-Licence conditions, GDPR, FCA rules)
ICA Certificate in Compliance or equivalent qualification preferred
Strong report writing and communication skills
Degree in Law, Business, or a related subject advantageous
