Category C1 7.5 Tonne Driver

Category C1 drivers operate vehicles between 3.5 and 7.5 tonnes, covering a range of delivery and collection work that requires a step up from a standard car licence. Key Duties

Driving a Category C1 vehicle (up to 7.5 tonnes) on planned delivery or service routes
Pre-use safety checks including tyres, lights, oil, and load area
Recording driving hours on a tachograph in compliance with WTD rules
Loading and unloading goods using manual handling or a tail-lift
Navigating to trade and residential addresses, including access-restricted sites
Completing POD documentation and reporting route exceptions to the office
Keeping the vehicle clean and roadworthy throughout the working day

Typical Qualifications & Requirements

Category C1 driving licence (vehicles up to 7.5T GVW)
CPC Driver Qualification Card (required if operating commercially)
Digital or analogue tachograph card
Clean or near-clean driving licence
Tail-lift operation experience advantageous
