Accountant

Accountants produce the financial statements, management accounts, and tax returns that help businesses understand their performance and meet their obligations. Prism 7 Resourcing places qualified and part-qualified accountants with companies and practices across Essex and London seeking experienced finance professionals.

Key Duties

Preparing monthly or quarterly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
Completing year-end statutory accounts and working with external auditors
Preparing corporation tax computations and liaising with HMRC on tax matters
Reviewing and posting month-end journals including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation
Overseeing the bookkeeper or accounts assistant team and reviewing their work
Analysing variances against budget and preparing commentary for the board
Producing cash flow forecasts and supporting commercial decision-making

Typical Qualifications & Requirements

ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or finalist level with relevant experience)
Proficient in Xero, Sage, or equivalent accounting software
Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and financial modelling
Experience preparing statutory accounts under FRS 102 or IFRS
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related subject preferred
