7.5T Driver

Drivers of 7.5-tonne vehicles bridge the gap between van and full HGV work, often handling trade deliveries, furniture, or construction materials on multi-drop routes. Key Duties

Operating a 7.5-tonne rigid vehicle on planned multi-drop delivery routes
Completing pre-use vehicle checks and recording hours on a tachograph
Loading and unloading goods, often using a tail-lift and pump truck
Navigating to both trade premises and residential addresses safely
Communicating delivery updates and exceptions to the transport office
Securing loads appropriately for road transport
Obtaining POD signatures or using a handheld PDA device

Typical Qualifications & Requirements

Category C1 driving licence (vehicles 3.5T–7.5T)
CPC Driver Qualification Card
Digital tachograph card
Tail-lift experience preferred
Physically fit — manual handling of goods is part of the role
